    Job Description

    Want a leg up in preparation for the "real world" and work on impactful projects? If so, this may be the job for you! 

    Here's your chance to be an HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN at HCSS, 14X WINNER OF THE "BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR IN TEXAS!" Being a software company in the construction realm, we're constantly innovating and playing with the latest tools. Instead of being bogged down by a ton of "red tape", you'll have multiple opportunities to help our team and give our new and potential hires the best onboarding experience.

    Here's what we're looking for:

    1. You're currently enrolled in a local accredited college/university and can commute to our office in Sugar Land, TX (southwest Houston). Currently, we are working remotely, but there will be days you'll have to come in. 
    2. A HUGE PLUS IF YOU'RE ABLE TO WORK YEAR-ROUND (AT LEAST 2 SEMESTERS, INCLUDING SUMMER BREAK).
    3. Preferably, you are a junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree majoring in Management/HR or a related field.
    4. You must be organized, task-oriented, and can pick things up quickly. Asking questions will help get you answers quickly. 
    5. You are a people person, caring and passionate about helping others. 
    6. You have a creative eye and like making things visually appealing.

     

    Some tasks that you'll tackle: 

    • Assist HR team with onboarding of new employees
    • Identify opportunities for task automation through observations of various HCSS processes
    • Revamp and modify benefit content on HCSS sites for improved accessibility to employees
    • Schedule onboarding classes and update new hire content and checklists
    • Assist and respond to employee request submitted through the HCSS Onboarding system
    • Help with various tasks associated with HCSS internal tools/ platforms
    • Work with the Organizational Development team to provide enhancement and general feedback on the Internship Program
    • Develop visually appealing materials for recruitment, learning & development activities, and employee engagement initiatives

    Nice to Have's:

    • Experience with Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar tools
    • Familiar with the Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, or related tools
    • Knowledge about employment laws and HR processes

     

    What can you expect?

    • You can set your work schedule around your classes. During the Fall/Spring semester, you can only work up to 25 hours a week. For major school breaks, you can work up to 40 hours.
    • Training will be provided and you'll receive feedback on your work every week. 
    • Depending on your performance, you may be given a full-time offer upon graduation and be eligible for all our amazing perks!
