    HELP CLINICS COMMUNITY OUTREACH WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION Community Outreach Worker Clinic Coordinator Part Time-Temporary (September-June) Non-Exempt 15 hrs per week POSITION SUMMARY: Outreach Worker is responsible for delivering community outreach to targeted communities in order to link individuals to the HELP Clinics for primary care and oral health care. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be an exhaustive description of all responsibilities, duties and skills. Essential Duties: 1. Provide direct community outreach programs to targeted populations. 2. Participate in health fairs, neighborhood community activities, and special events. 3. Refer individuals to HELP Clinics for primary medical and dental care. 4. Conduct cultural sensitivity in-service with HELP staff and volunteers. 5. Assist in the planning and coordination of community health fairs and events. 6. Assist in the development and implementation of a marketing campaign to the community served by HELP. 7. Maintain comprehensive documentation for data collection; and provide statistical data and/or reports per grant requirements. Secondary Duties: 1. Assists with special projects as directed by Executive Director or Clinic Coordinator. Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities: 1. None General Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Attends and participates in management, staff meetings, and vendor service meetings, as requested. 17. Utilizes material, equipment and time in a safe, beneficial, and cost effective manner. 18. Organizes workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner. 19. Observes infection control and standard precautions. 20. Adheres to all required regulations by protecting the privacy & security of all patient/client health information. 21. Performs any and all duties, within scope of service, as assigned. Education & Qualification Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Bilingual - English/Spanish, a plus - Minimum one (1) year experience providing health education to various populations. - Familiar with the community served by HELP Inc. Knowledge, Skill, Ability and Work Difficulty: - Skilled in delivery of health education topics to diverse populations. - Working knowledge of various healthcare issues affecting the community. - Skilled in medical office practices, procedures and equipment. - Knowledge of Microsoft applications. - Knowledge of correct English/Spanish usage, spelling and grammar. Physical Demands and Work Environment: - Perform under pressure of patients and clinic staff needing assistance to meet deadlines. - Exposure to indoor office florescent lights. - Exposure to computer monitor. - May be required to stand or sit for prolonged time period. - May be required to bend stoop, kneel, pull, climb, reach, lift, and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities. - Requires normal hand-eye coordination and dexterity. - Requires normal vision capability. - Distinguish letter, numbers or symbols. - May be exposed to high crime areas within the service area community. - Exposure to weather and temperature extremes.
