HERS Advisors is seeking a talented Pharmacist with Informatics build experience to join a growing company in San Diego. They are redeveloping their electronic medical record system and in need of a Product Manager to be an integral part of the development and management team.

The Product Manager of Pharmacy Informatics is responsible for the entire pharmacy capability. You will analyze user needs, document requirements, and research appropriate workflows as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments within the company to ensure superior customer support, system optimization, problem resolution.

- Develop and implement best practices to improve pharmacy workflow within the EHR product suite.
- Develop, oversee and facilitate training programs to educate support staff on pharmacy features and capabilities as they are implemented to our customer base.
- Develop and maintain effective communications both internally and externally.
- Perform pre and post implementation assessment, document lessons learned, and follow-up driving positive results and process improvements.
- Assist in product demonstrations and business development opportunities.
- Participate in national, regional and local events that position to be recognized as a leader in the use of information technology, including tradeshows and user group meetings.
- Investigate and resolve matters of significance related to quality assurance, system change requests, usability issues, technical support, device integration, and coordinate with business partners as needed.
- Provide consultation and advice to business partners and the chain-of-command.
You also posses
- 5-7 years of experience with technology systems development, design, implementation (e.g. BCMA, ADC’s, CPOE) and maintenance.
- Current California State Board of Pharmacy license.
- Thorough understanding of pharmacology including dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
- Experience in clinical systems, which may include, implementations throughout the system design life-cycle, performing workflow analysis, testing, training, go-live support, system upgrades, and issues management.
- Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team; networks with colleagues and industry forums to leverage knowledge.
- Experience in conducting evaluations and assessments, workflow optimization assessments, etc.
- Proven critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, analytical, and quantitative, organizational research, time management and priority setting skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Additional preferred experience includes
- Strong knowledge of formulary management, Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacy, CPOE, CDS, IV Infusion Pumps, automatic dispensing cabinets, IV Drug flowsheets, barcode medication administration, and eMAR.
- Hospital experience strongly preferred.
- Adept at building key relationships with hospital leadership. Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel
