    HERS Advisors is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner for a prominent downtown Los Angeles national law firm.

    The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) serves as a consultant to managers on human resource-related issues and supports human resource-related processes and initiatives. This individual is responsible for many of the firm’s talent programs and practices as well as designing and maintaining human resources procedures and documentation. The Sr. HRBP forms collaborative relationships to enable world-class internal customer service, ensuring a high quality experience when interacting with Human Resources. The Sr. HRBP is responsible for optimizing processes and practices using data analysis, best practice knowledge and judgement to inform robust and thoughtful solutions. The Sr. HRBP is responsible for the ownership of talent practices including performance management, employee relations, training and development and compliance with employment law. The Sr. HRBP is skilled in working with HR Systems and is able to work with data effectively as well.

    Job Functions:

    Description of Responsibilities:

    Talent Management

    • Participate in compensation analysis and planning. Assist in designing, implementing and maintaining a salary classification system and compensation program.
    • Consult on performance management practices and advise on appropriate approach in specific situations.
    • Write and maintain job descriptions.
    • Lead initiatives to revise and continuously improve processes and tools in the Performance Management process.
    • Manage the employee review process including tracking and management coaching.
    • Facilitate and oversee employee relations activities in partnership with managers.

    Training & Development

    • Develop and maintain compliance-related training.
    • In conjunction with subject matter experts, develop and maintain various employee education programs designed to broaden the technical and behavioral competencies of professionals.
    • Oversee and continuously improve the Onboarding and orientation programs.

    Other Activities

    • Oversee recruiting of senior and executive-level positions.
    • Write and maintain firm policies.
    • Conduct exit interviews as requested.
    • Develop, implement and maintain recognition and retention activities.
    • Support diversity and inclusion efforts as they relate to human resources activities.
    • Manage human resource projects and perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Experience/Skills:

    TOOLS

    • Workday – HRIS
    • Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5-7 years of experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or closely related position.
    • Expert ability to build strong relationships and operate as a trusted advisor to individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • High level of proficiency in compensation management principles and best practices.
    • Ability to use HRIS system.
    • Expert ability to advise on performance management principles and best practices.
    • Ability to collect and analyze data to support informed and thorough decision making.
    • Ability to design efficient processes and procedures.
    • Expert ability to communicate via all modes to all levels of the organization.
    • Expert knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements and human resources best practices for policies.
    • Ability to work independently with little daily supervision.
    • Knowledge of recruiting best practices and procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations.
    • High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline and human resource certification (i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) highly desired.
