    Cambridge International Systems has a career opportunity for a Cyber Defense Analyst I to join our team in Houston, TX.

    The Cypress project will provide information technology security management and technical services in support of Johnson Space Center (JSC) IT Security Program.  Products and services will contribute to the implementation of a robust, flexible, and forward leaning IT Security Program that seeks to meet the needs of a highly technical and innovative JSC organization, while adapting to a constantly evolving technology, governance, and threat landscape.

     Responsibilities:

    • Applies knowledge of IT Security and computer systems expertise in support of tasks relating to risk management, operational monitoring, threat identification and vulnerability management

    • Demonstrates a high level of communications and customer relationship skills and expertise in collaboration with representatives of other organizations

    • Monitors security system logs such as firewall, IDS, and web proxy for unauthorized activity and indicators of compromise

    • Manages configuration of the JSC vulnerability scanning tool; adds/removes users, scanning credentials, scanning engines, asset grouping, asset tagging, and scanning templates

    • Provide ad-hoc, weekly and monthly vulnerability data for the JSC Chief information Security Officer (CISO) metrics

    • Generates weekly and monthly activity reports, tracks open trouble tickets and follows up to closing

    • Conduct scheduled/ad-hoc network, web application, and host base security vulnerability scans

    Required Skills Required Experience

    •  2-4 years’ experience supporting an IT security environment
    • Minimum Security+ or GSEC certification required; GCIH, CEH, or equivalent certification is preferred.
    • Experience with vulnerability management, application scanning, firewall management, and log management/analysis tools preferred.

  • Qualifications
    • Chemical Engineering or similar background graduated.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Industry as Process Engineer.
    • Commissioning & start-up, Operation and optimization of LNG or Gas plants.
    • Knowledge and capabilities in process simulations (HYSYS) and other engineering tools.
    • Knowledge and capabilities in plant troubleshooting, testing and optimization methodologies.
    • Safety and Environmental Knowledge.
    • Knowledge in PSM standards.
    • Knowledge of ISO 17025 and all related procedures to the Quality Management System.
