Highpointe Care is looking to hire full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide direct in-home and community support for adults with Developmental Disabilities!

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities to have quality of life. The Direct Support Professional promotes the health, safety and well-being of residents. A Direct Support Professional serves as an advocate for our clients.

Job Description:

· Supervision, protection, and care for adults individually and in groups at all times.

· Assistance to each adult in working with a group and in handling individual problems.

· Administration of discipline (as defined as positive redirection) and setting of limits for behavior.

· Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the home.

· Be thoroughly familiar with the program plan for each resident in the Adult Residential Facility.

· Assist residents in all areas of grooming and personal hygiene skills.

· Ensure open lines of communication with other staff members.

· Assist in the supervision of meal preparation and housekeeping chores as assigned.

· Have the ability to exercise mature judgment and relate to clients in a warm, caring, and non-expletive means.

· Ensure that the Adult Residential Facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and home-like manner.

· Participate in residents’ recreation activities.

· Other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager/Administrator/Alternate Administrator/Licensee

Working Environment/Hazards

· Ability to work in a variety of environments and settings.

· Ability to work weekend shifts Hours of operation is 24-7; AM-shift, PM-shift, and NOC-shift.

Physical Requirements

The Direct Support Professional works in an indoor setting and occasionally in an outdoor setting. Frequent lifting and/or carrying objects/individuals up to 50 plus pounds is required. Constant hearing, seeing, and speaking is required. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, keying, repetitive hand, finger movement, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting neck, twisting waist, driving, feeling, and crouching. Occasional running, climbing, kneeling, traveling, squatting, sitting, and balancing is required.

Qualifications

· A reliable vehicle

· A valid driver's license

· Auto insurance coverage

· Must pass Live Scan background check,

· Must complete and pass Physical, Drug Test and TB testing.

Shifts/Schedules

· Wednesday (2pm-10), Friday (3pm-11pm), Saturday and Sunday (7am-7pm) total of 40hours

· Saturday and Sunday (9am-9pm) total of 24hrs : part time

· Monday, Tuesday, Friday (1pm-9pm) and Saturday (9pm-9am) total of 36 hours
