    Our client provides over 5000 different products for the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Research communities. Our products are used in the discovery and cure of diseases and to relieve suffering from these conditions. They are rapidly growing and have Business Development positions to support our Gene Delivery portfolio for viral and non-viral gene delivery solutions.

     

    The Scientific Affairs Director will work closely with commercial, marketing, R&D, and operation teams to lead scientific affairs efforts in the assigned regions of the US & World. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of gene delivery products, research, and market dynamics. The candidate will also possess a strong ability to carry out scientific discussions with senior researchers within biopharma and discuss the use of research products and services.

     
    PRIMARY DUTIES
    • Establish, nurture and grow client relationships through engaging in scientific discussions to help the customer advance their discoveries and time to result.
    • Develop account plans and client partnerships
    • Follow up on leads to develop long-term collaborative relationships with customers
    • Provide competitive market intelligence back to our product development and R&D teams 
    • Represent Teknova's capabilities and differentiation frameworks with customers and in the broader scientific arena (attending conferences etc)
    • Set and manage customer expectations
    • Collaborate with company wide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction
    • Organize and hosts client visits
    • Use CRM to manage internal communication and document territory and client information required for the business unit
    • Responsible for opportunity management and pipeline forecasting
    • Collaborate effectively with R&D, project leadership, and operation teams to bring opportunities to their attention
    • Required Travel 25-50%
     
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ph.D. in biological/biochemistry/medical disciplines with postdoctoral and industry experience
    •  In-depth knowledge and experience within the gene delivery technology and therapeutic areas
    •  At least two years of relevant experience and an established network in the biopharmaceutical industry
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Highly developed organizational skills, operational skills, and ability to understand the content of and memorialize interactions with potential partners
    • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to influence others to reach common goals as well as act independently
    • Must possess the executive presence to facilitate the decision-making process among clients and senior executives
