We have an exciting opportunity for a Scientific Business Development Manager that provides industry-leading needle technologies, prefillable syringes, safety and shielding systems, and self-injection systems for pharmaceutical and biotech companies across the globe.
This position is reporting to the Director of Technical Services. As part of the Pharmaceutical Systems Technical Services team, the Scientific Business Development Manager will drive the technical and scientific strategy to accelerate adoption and commercialization of our products and services. In tandem with the Pharmaceutical Systems Sales organization, s/he will establish strong working relationships with customers and serve as a go-to-partner in providing scientific and consultative support and enabling new customer-centric solutions. This position serves as a key technical interface for Pharmaceutical Systems both internally and externally and will be key to establishing strong stakeholder network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves a combination products expert, provides customer consultation and education to support customer drug delivery device selection and qualification
Develops deep technical partnerships with customers to support overarching commercial goals to drive adoption of strategic products and services
Works with sales organization to develop account/territory strategies with specific objectives and action plan
Grows and drives the pipeline by prospecting, identifying, and evaluating new opportunities
Supports prospecting activities through technical assessment, recommendation, and education on products and service solutions
Develops strong relationships with key opinion leaders/companies as relevant to support of the business strategy
Serves as technical or scientific interface in external forums such as major conferences, industry groups and/or government agencies
Gathers market and competitive intelligence through customer interactions and other sources, and by attending trade shows and conferences
Keeps abreast of and anticipates major industry trends, scientific developments and future customer needs to drive critical business decisions and differentiate from competition
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and strong understanding of drug development process, including methodology, timelines, testing, data and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of design control and system integration
Working knowledge of industry standards and requirements (ex. ISO)
Strong industry knowledge of the INJECTABLES market, including but not limited to customers, marketed products, key stakeholders and service providers
Experience selling/supporting sales with product/service promotion
Education: B.S. or M.S. or PhD. (preferred) in science or engineering, or other relevant discipline plus relevant experience related to combination product or medical device development and/or testing
Min. 8-10 years of industrial experience working in technological role within pharma combination products (preferred)/biotech or medical device company
