    Our client is building their U.S. Region marketing team and is looking for star talent to join our team. We are looking for an energetic Marketing Manager (Clinical Solutions) to support a clinical flow cytometry portfolio targeted at single cell analysis in the Life Sciences market, which consists of Clinical Reagents, Cell Counters, Cell Analyzers and Instrument Software and Services. The Marketing Manager (Clinical Solutions) should be able to craft a compelling strategic narrative and execute the regional marketing plan in partnership with the Director of US Marketing, and other members of the regional and global marketing teams. Reporting to the Director of US Marketing, the Marketing Manager (Clinical Solutions) will be a critical role in shaping our U.S. clinical operational strategy and helping to achieve financial and functional goals.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the customer (i.e., VoC) through market research and regular engagement in field activities such as customer visits, tradeshows, conferences;
    • Maintain a consistent pulse of market intelligence related to regional market trends(e.g., reimbursement rates, etc.) and key competitive activities to refine market and customer segmentation analyses;
    • Develop and refine annual & sprint marketing plans and forecasts specific to US Region;
    • Develop product positioning and messaging in collaboration with Clinical Science Liaison that differentiates BDB products in the U.S market;
    • Create and execute differentiated value-based marketing programs and campaigns to:
      • Stimulate brand awareness and facilitate market development/shaping
      • Drive demand generation and sales conversions (e.g., promos, contests, etc.)
    • Leverage market insights to partner with Marketing Communications team to create engaging content and collateral that elevate value propositions beyond standard features and benefits;
    • Coordinate with Clinical Science Liaison and Sales Training Manager to develop sales tools & aides for portfolio offerings to communicate value messaging to customer-facing teams in support of selling processes;
    • Build effective relationships with global marketing team to support product lifecycle management (i.e., launch new products, manage cross-functional implementation and regional end of life programs);
    • Maintain competitive landscape analysis and partner with Clinical Science Liaison to develop/execute competitive defensive strategies and tactics;
    • Monitor and manage regional price performance and pricing corridors, including making recommendations for strategic pricing actions;
    • Partner with channel manager to develop eCommerce engagement campaigns, drive eCommerce channel performance and maintain healthy distributor relationships; and
    • Work with Clinical Science Liaison and cross-functional & global marketing stakeholders to build market development playbooks and execute related activities (e.g., scientific roadshows, webinars, etc.).

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Typically requires a B.S. in a Life Sciences discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and/or Master’s degree, Ph.D. in Bio / Biomedical engineering, or related scientific discipline preferred.
    • Requires domain expertise in single cell applications with a preference towards the immune research.
    • Easily develops relationships and engagement with KOLs.
    • Scientific and technical knowledge with the ability to develop and review technical product specifications and applications development plans based on customer needs is key.
    • Scientific ability to build both biology and technology based customer facing training decks and marketing collateral materials.
    • Specific understanding of single cell analysis platforms, informatics and single cell sample and data workflow is preferred.
    • High level of personal effectiveness with the ability to work effectively within and ability to lead a project team and the cross-functional organization.
    • 3-5 years of business experience, preferably in a biotechnology or life sciences industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Business experience may include strategic marketing, product management, sales, sales training, research applications or other related function.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.
    • Effective skills in areas of interpersonal, oral and written communication, organization, prioritization and planning, goal setting, analytical and problem solving.
    • Results-oriented, capable of managing and driving the completion of multiple competing projects.
    • Requires the ability to develop comprehensive business cases with detailed financial analysis.

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Proven ability to define marketing objectives, execute integrated campaigns, and track and evaluate results;
    • Data-driven decision-making and a desire for continuous improvement;
    • Hands-on experience with ERP, CRM and marketing automation tools & technologies desired (i.e., SAP, Salesforce.com, Marketo);
    • Desire to collaborate and build consensus in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment;
    • Strong project management, prioritization and organizational skills;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
    • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
    • Engaging interpersonal and team building skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and influence others;
    • Prior people management experience a plus; and
    • Agile learner able to work with limited supervision.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 5 years of product marketing experience, preferably in a biotechnology or life sciences industry;
    • Prior sales, sales training, application specialist, or business development in life science industry a plus;
    • Familiarity with immunology and flow cytometry related fields a plus;
    • BS degree in marketing, biology or a life sciences discipline preferred; advanced degree a plus;
    • Ability to travel up to 40%; and
    • Role is based in San Jose, California. Willing to consider other BD Biosciences sites.
