    The Product Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Customer Relationship Management. The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing effective marketing strategies and plans to communicate the features and benefits of solutions promoted under our client's affiliated brands, while developing the product positioning designed to help articulate the value proposition for our customers. The manager will analyze sales data and channel information and create plans to improve product line sales through marketing and promotional activities (Digital Marketing, eMarketing, Trade Shows, Sales Tools); perform market research on competitive products and customer segments; develops messaging and market positioning around a product and/or range of products; take part in (sometimes lead) presentations and promotional events; decipher and develop sales tools that emphasize unique (differentiated) selling points.

     

     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    • Develop and manage group product marketing plans – from defining objectives, goals, and strategies, to measuring results and ROI.
    • Develop, evaluate, and maintain customer / product / applications-oriented marketing automation campaigns designed to nurture marketing prospects (via Pardot) into sales opportunities (via Salesforce)
    • Set event lead targets and oversee timely entry, attribution and analysis of campaign-level leads from trade shows, webcasts, and other programs.
    • Communicate the vision and value of new products to the sales team; develop and present sales tools that facilitate the selling process.
    • Help create content such as case studies, videos, website copy and blog posts; writes compelling copy for different collateral types and audiences.
    • Ensure brand/product positioning is represented effectively within industry trade shows / exhibitions.
    • Research competitor offerings and use market research data to establish price/product positioning; obtain insights into customers’ usage of current products, untapped opportunities, and buyer personas, through interviews, surveys, focus groups and sales data.
    • Build on product messaging that sets new products apart from others in the market to give them a unique selling point.
    • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise of market(s), relevant product ranges and technologies.
    • Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Product Development teams from affiliated brands.
    • Plan and participate in the launch of new services and products which involve several different departments.
    • Agree timelines and deadlines for the development of new products with engineering or manufacturing departments.
    • Manage promotional inventory and update existing marketing collateral.
    • Reinforce associate’s awareness of keeping the customer’s end use and needs in mind with every task they do.
    • Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    •  Must be able to sit at computer for extended periods of time.
    • Periodic (overseas) travel to Baker affiliated brands (portfolio companies).

     
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    •  BA/BS in Marketing, Science or Business-related field.
    • 3+ years’ experience in Product Marketing / Product Management Capacity; prior experience within the life sciences a plus.
    • Demonstrated success in positioning and launching differentiated products that meet and exceed business objectives.
    • Experience reading, interpreting, and acting on data; proficient with marketing automation and other CRM/marketing software applications.
    • Excellent communication, people, and management skills to interact with higher and lower-level staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
    • Creative, results-driven marketer with a passion for building world-class brands.
    • Willing to travel up to 15%.
    • Position is based in Sanford, ME.  Remote candidates within the Northeast will be considered with the expectation of being onsite regularly.
