    Our client's Senior Scientific Affairs Manager, Infectious Disease will report to the Vice President, Scientific Affairs and is accountable for supporting the company’s strategic objectives for continuous innovation and development of cutting-edge genetic analysis solutions to meet the evolving infectious disease market needs.

    The role requires a leader with a vision and strategy to enhance our client's  Infectious Disease Diagnostics clinical leadership and success. Has relationships with opinion leaders and clinicians globally. Formulates and executes global Scientific Affairs plan for the infectious disease market. Plan and execute clinical studies and publication strategy for both new and existing products, Direct cross-functional effort to create product training and education material for both marketing and sales organizations, supporting healthcare providers around the world. Recommends new product ideas and provides input to new products design and technology advancements. Leads proposals for new funding from the U.S. and other governments, and foundations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Is considered a scientific and clinical expert responsible for providing comprehensive, accurate, fair balanced, objective, scientifically rigorous information and appropriate product and disease state education to key opinion leaders, clinical testing laboratory leaders, population health decision makers, other health care professionals and internal partners based on business needs in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Responds to unsolicited requests for product, regulatory and reimbursement information from healthcare providers.
    • Is responsible for staying current on scientific literature and infectious disease testing landscape trends
    • Identifies and establishes relationships with opinion leaders.
    • Responsible for identifying, engaging and executing on various infectious disease clinical studies, including development of project scopes and agreements, identifies sites, writes study protocols, monitors study progress, analyzes results and works with investigators to publish.
    • Responsible for creating, overseeing and maintaining the continuous development of a global community/consortium of industry leading molecular infectious disease testing scientists and clinicians who are enabled and willing to showcase the capabilities of our client to peers. Mines this community to provide market led requirements for new product initiatives
    • Deliver publications, scientific literature and marketing collateral evidencing the utility of the MassArray for molecular infectious disease testing
    • Delivers compelling presentations on the capabilities of the MassArray for infectious disease applications at scientific meetings, seminars/webinars and industry conferences
    • Provide direction, development, subject matter expertise and support to various teams including, sales, marketing, quality/regulatory, R&D and Operations
    • Continually evaluates and recommends the timely adjustments to  infectious disease offering to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Contributes expertise and provides “voice of the customer”, into continuous product improvement and new product development projects
    • Assists with business development activities relating to clinical infectious disease product development and diagnostics

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • PhD in relevant scientific discipline—Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology
    • 15+ years’ of related research laboratory or industry experience required
    • Previous experience managing successful execution of complex multi-stakeholder collaborative scientific projects.
    • Previous experience in project management to develop genetic testing products
