    Job Description

    Established CPA and consulting firm looking for an experienced, sharp-minded and personable Tax Manager for our Trust & Estate Practice which provides Estate Planning Services and Tax Compliance Services. The Trust & Estates Manager will primarily focus on trust, estate, gift, private foundation, and personal tax compliance for high net-worth clients. The Manager simultaneously conducts multiple engagements, maintaining contact with clients. The Manager displays technical and communication skills, and judgement essential for dealing with clients.

    Duties:

    • Provide high level fiduciary, personal income, gift and estate tax compliance services as well as estate planning advisory services
    • Review and analyze account statements from various brokerage houses and financial institutions’ mutual fund statements
    • Review individual, fiduciary, estate and gift tax returns and related income tax workpapers
    • Review estate and trust fiduciary accountings
    • Reviews inventories and accountings and understands and manages the probate process
    • Handle Federal and State tax notices and audits
    • Research Federal, State and International tax laws, prepare tax memorandums on technical topics, and develop tax savings strategies
    • Manage all aspects of client accounts and foster client relationships
    • Review and analyze estate planning related legal documents
    • Assist in creating processes, checklist, and tools to increase efficiency and consistency in estate and trust engagements across the firm
    • Manage other members of the group including monitoring their workload and training and assisting them

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • CPA license required
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with trust, estate and gift matters
    • Public accounting firm experience preferred
    • Extensive experience in Tax Advisory and Estate/Trust planning and compliance
    • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
    • Experience with reviewing fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns
    • Strong organizational and management skills
    • Ability to articulate complex tax matters in “business” language
    • Excellent analytical skills and judgment
