    Marketing Director

    HKIT Architects is looking for a talented marketing professional to support the firm’s Principals in business development and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will possess open-minded thinking, a disciplined approach to work, and motivation to transform the built environment.

This results in a diverse portfolio of successful projects. Our practice areas of learning environments, senior living, and affordable housing have been the three pillars of our firm for decades.

    Working with the Principals and practice area leaders, this individual will play a key role in strategic business development, marketing, communications, and brand development. The position requires conducting market research to identify opportunities, leading RFQ/RFP responses and interview preparation, developing marketing staff, training technical staff in interview skills, managing marketing department resources, and other duties as assigned.

    While HKIT strives to maintain a balanced workload for all staff members, the position of Marketing Director often involves evening and weekend work around specific deadlines, as well as attendance at select market sector conferences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategy Develop the annual comprehensive marketing plan that encompasses the strategy to move the business forward.
    • Management – Responsible for assigning workload and managing day-to-day projects of the department, including managing and mentoring the Marketing team staff to promote career growth and an entrepreneurial spirit.
    • Pursuits – Serve as the proposal manager on large and strategic pursuits. Actively manage the pursuit process including the support of cross-functional teams to develop meaningful content that tells the story of the project, coaching the technical team on effective interview tactics, conducting post-pitch debriefs, and sending follow-up marketing materials to clients.
    • Social Media - Manage the company’s online presence and ensure execution of social media campaign strategies on a consistent basis. This is done with a diverse mix of posts including stories, videos, and photos across multiple platforms.
    • Content – Brainstorm content ideas with the marketing and management team based on the pulse of the industry and relevant topics, while also participating in the content writing and dissemination process.
    • Website – Responsible for maintaining current website content with team bios, project galleries and consistent messaging.
    • Database Maintenance – Responsible to keep the firm’s data up to date on current and past projects
    • Awards Submittals and Advertising Placements – Creation of materials appropriate to each forum, based on the firm’s strategic P.R. goals
    • Graphics and Collateral – Develop and maintain both digital and printed materials to represent the firm.
    • Event Management – Responsible for arrangements and support related to conferences, presentations, and client events.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, journalism, or related field
    • 7+ years of experience, A/E/C industry experience preferred
    • Exceptional creative and strategic writing and communication skills
    • Strong design eye and graphic design skills
    • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and platforms such as Constant Contact, WordPress, and SurveyMonkey
    • Proficient in CRM software
    • Expert skills in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and PowerPoint with a keen eye for design
    • Strong work ethic in a highly demanding environment
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects at any given time
    • Proactive and independent self-starter
    • Demonstrated ability to organize proposal efforts and work collaboratively in a team environment under tight deadlines.
    • Critical thinking and good judgment
    • Understanding of the current trends shaping Education, Senior Living and Affordable Housing
    • Discreet and able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
    • Collaborative and diplomatic in the approach to project development
