    Job Description

    HM Capital Management (HMCM) is a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor located in Clayton, MO. HMCM is responsible for over $2.9 billion of client assets. HMCM operates in two primary lines of business: Family Advisory services and Institutional Consulting services. HMCM serves as a legal fiduciary to all clients.

    ADVISOR SERVICES ASSOCIATE

    The core job functions for this role is to provide support to advisors in both the Family Advisory and Institutional Consulting groups, with responsibilities including:

     

    Family Advisory Tasks (~50% of job duties)

    · Preparing and processing all TD Ameritrade paperwork including opening new accounts, preparing checks/wire transfers, updating beneficiaries, processing required minimum distributions, etc.

    · Preparing client implementation items including client agreements, pre-signed letters of authorizations, 529 account applications, etc.

    · Process charitable and foundation donations including preparing ACAT transfers, mailing confirmation letters, tracking total distributions, etc.

    · Assisting with preparing client meeting materials including cover pages, realized gain/loss reports, income summaries, summary of beneficiaries, etc.

    · Preparing performance reports, asset allocation reports, manual entry of outside accounts, and other items associated with the Orion portfolio accounting system

    · Preparing monthly summaries and cash flow statements

    · Updating client records and workflows in the Redtail CRM system

    · Assisting with the preparation of tax packets including adding documents to client folders, setting-up the data room, etc.

     

    Institutional Consulting Tasks (~50% of job duties)

    · Assisting with preparing client meeting materials including cover pages, populating and adding report templates with data from Morningstar, updating report templates with data from 3rd party custodians, preparing all-in fee analysis, reviewing mutual fund share classes, etc.

    · Preparing client implementation items including investment policy statements, client agreements, preparing recordkeeper letters of authorization, etc.

    · Assist with client follow-up items and updates including modifying plan summaries and updating administrative structures

    · Assist with pulling Form 5500s, peer analysis data, and preparing prospect pitchbooks

     

    Advisor Services Associate Role and HMCM Culture

    · The Advisor Services Associate is vital to the success of HM Capital Management. In this role, you will be taking workload from the Family Advisory and Institutional Consulting advisors and should expect to take on additional tasks/projects as needed. The Advisor Services Associate allows the other advisors to focus on other priorities, mainly serving clients. The better the Advisor Service Associate, the more advisors can focus on serving clients, which leads to better client service and, ultimately, success of the entire team!

    · The Advisor Services Associate reports to the Advisor Services Manager.

    Education and Background

    · HMCM is seeking a professional with an undergraduate degree, with a preference for those with degrees in business, finance, accounting, or related fields

    · 1+ year(s) of relevant work experience is preferred (but not required)

     

    Preferred Experiences and Skills

    · Previously worked at another Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), broker-dealer, or financial services firm

    · Broad understanding of how to complete TD Ameritrade (or another custodian or recordkeeper) paperwork for individuals

    · Working knowledge of Redtail (or other CRM systems)

    · Working knowledge of Orion (or other portfolio accounting systems)

    · Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

    · Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

    · Strong attention to detail

    · Ability to complete tasks by a deadline

    · Ability to follow-up on outstanding tasks
