  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for a capable Welder who will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites, using appropriate equipment. Your job will be to provide safe foundation for strong infrastructure.

    A Welder is responsible for performing welding applications as required by job specifications with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW, as well as performing pre-welding operations with such equipment as saws, shears, automated cutting equipment, etc.

    You should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions, have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is also required.

    Field Welder responsibilities are:

    • Perform welding operations as required by job specifications with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
    • Perform pre-welding operations with saws, shears, automated cutting equipment for shaping and preparation.
    • Assist in dimensional verification checks.
    • Perform advanced fabrication, documents measuring, etc.
    • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
    • Adhere to company policies, practices and procedures.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Welder requirements are:

    • High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
    • Union 1945
    • 1+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
    • Must have completed and passed a 6G test on carbon steel.
    • TWIC Card Required
    • Must be familiar with using “fit-up gear” key plates, bull pins, u-bars, etc.
    • Comfortable with working at heights on tank-builders scaffold and pole scaffolding, climbing vertical ladders when required while following proper tie-off procedures.
    • Prior experience with set-up and operation of lathe CNC machines is a plus
