A Sr Dome Design Engineer is responsible for leading the Products dome engineering design groups, ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and in a quality manner.  The Sr Dome Design Engineer will be the primary contact for regional managers and project managers for all issues related to dome projects.  Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Sr Design Engineer will interact with the Production Engineering manager and the General Manager of Engineering  to continually drive improvements in the performance of the Products Engineering group,  this will be achieved through process improvements, personnel training and improved programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Technical leadership on all engineering related projects
• Provide training and guidance to design engineers on engineering calculations and HMT drawing Standards
• Engineering oversight on all HMT engineered services projects
• Applies a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting the company
• Supervise staff of engineers, technicians and drafters
• Evaluates the need for resources, manpower, and equipment, and acquires as necessary within predetermined budget constraints
• Schedule / Assignments resource allocation
• Drive continuous improvements in drawing quality and turnaround times for drawing generation

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

BSc in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering

MSc in Mechanical Engineering is a plus

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

The applicant should have min 10 years of experience with experience in structural design (experience with Aluminum -# dimensional space frame Structures preferred), personnel management, project management, process control and quality systems.
