    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    The Grant Writer- Polk State College Foundation reports to the Director, Grants Administration and is responsible for supporting the development and submission of grant proposals.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:  

    • Coordinates the development and writing of grant proposals as assigned.
    • Participates in researching prospective funding sources, both public and private, and contacting possible funders for basic application information as assigned.
    • Proofreads grant applications and other Grants Office generated documents to ensure they are well written and free of errors.
    • Under the supervision of the Director, reviews agency requests for proposals and networks within and outside the college to gauge interest in developing responsive proposals.
    • Coordinates development and gathering of documents required for grant submission, such as proposal and budget forms, letters of support or commitment, faculty/staff resumes, agency-specific documents, and proposal attachments.
    • Participates in compiling data from internal and external sources for use in proposals and applications.
    • Develops supportive narratives of college and community demographic data as assigned to be incorporated into grant applications or presentations.
    • Coordinates the timely execution of grant proposal submissions as assigned and ensures submissions meet funder requirements.
    • Maintains detailed records of proposal deadlines and status of submitted applications.

    • Ability to solve problems creatively in order to meet organizational goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
    • The ability to prioritize and manage a significant range of projects and activities.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required. 

    Grant Professional Certification (GPC) or similar national certification preferred.

    Required Experience

    A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN GRANT WRITING, GRANT ADMINISTRATION, OR GRANT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION OR AT A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IS PREFERRED.

    EXPERIENCE WITH FEDERAL AND/OR STATE GRANTS PREFERRED.

However, please note that education will be verified for all stated degrees.  Submission of OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS FOR ALL STATED DEGREES will be required as a condition of employment, following receipt of job offer.
