    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    This position provides mid-level administrative  and professional support to the administrator and directs the compliance and investigative services to the organizational unit. The work is generally diversified requiring judgment to apply broader aspects of established policies, practices, and procedures.

    The Director, Title IX and Equity supports the CDO in the Title IX program and manages the Title IX program processes, policy, and all related federal and state compliance and training.  This position will also partner with Human Resources for employee-related investigations and with Student Services for student-related investigations.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:  

    • Coordinates the Safe Zone training program. Communicates with the Safe Zone trainers and oversees the logistics (i.e. reviews training materials, prepares certificates and correspondence, maintains attendance record, orders supplies, and coordinates with vendors.)
    • Maintains compliance with Department of Education Title IX legislation; ensures that Title IX training and awareness opportunities, relative to Title IX are developed, communicated, provided, and met.
    • Collaborates with the CDO in development and maintenance of the College’s rules, procedures and policies regarding investigations, equity, and sexual misconduct.
    • Under the direction of the CDO and in partnership with the department of Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation and Research (IEAR), coordinates the creation of the Campus Climate Survey regarding components of Title IX, equity, and diversity.
    • At the direction of the CDO, investigates all Title IX, discrimination, and harassment complaints. Recommends and enforces disciplinary action in collaboration with Human Resources or Student Services.
    • Collaborates with College units to ensure compliance with Title IX laws, as reflected in the Annual Equity Report Update; coordinates with Human Resources, Public Safety and Security, Student Services, Academic Affairs, Athletics, IEAR, and others to ensure compliance is maintained accordingly.
    • Coordinates with the College community to create a climate free from sexual violence and discrimination, that welcomes and supports all students and staff.
    • Adheres to departmental budget and makes appropriate recommendations to the CDO for compliance training, memberships, conferences, and other departmental expenditures.
    • Maintains confidential records and ensures confidentiality in the office.
    • Attends conferences to secure best practices relative to Title IX, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
    • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    This position is a level P16. TO DETERMINE STARTING SALARY, POLK STATE COLLEGE TAKES INTO CONSIDERATION THE PAY LEVEL MINIMUM, THE CANDIDATE'S QUALIFICATIONS AND INTERNAL EQUITY FACTORS.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or education is required.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION:

    A master’s degree or additional training certifications in ATIXA, diversity and inclusion is preferred.

    Required Experience

    Five (5) years of leadership, administration, compliance and/or training experience in the areas of equity, diversity and Title IX is required. Must have experience conducting compliance-related investigations.
