  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Sales Allowance/Accounts Receivable summer intern will focus on the unidentified deductions and payments that currently reside in the suspense account as well as the Market Development Funds Suspense Account. The Sales Allowance intern will also learn how to utilize Microsoft Power BI and QuickBase to aid the department with reporting development to aid in providing customer specific data to remote sales personnel. The intern will work in conjunction with the Credit & Collections team and Sales Allowances team.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Develop identification procedures for specific customer deductions, types and subsequent processes.
    • Aid with development of reporting packages/models
    • Analyze major customers’ deduction behaviors
    • Assist with SOP creation and process documentation
    • Create and deliver a final presentation to the President and executive team of Dole Fresh Vegetables.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

    • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of basic Accounting
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to sit for long periods of time.

     

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

    Full time internship. 40 hours weekly. No overtime expected.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    Fall 2022 rising Junior or Senior majoring in Accounting, Finance or Agribusiness; or working towards a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
