  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our Connected Aircraft Solutions group. The qualified candidate will utilize strong communications skills to take input from the customer, company leadership, and the development teams to prioritize work based on value. The Product Owner must rally the teams through positive and optimistic attitude, and be capable of detailing the intent of product features such that the teams can work independently to meet the needs of the stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for the cost and schedule of the product features.

     

    PRODUCT OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides purpose, direction, and motivation to members of the team in alignment with objectives established by project leadership and customer
    • Prioritizes a high standard of quality, performance, and applications and services owned and supported by the team
    • Understands business objectives and product features to support the refinement of features worked by the team, as well as solution definition and decomposition into stories for the team
    • Prioritizes work to ensure features are completed and deployed by dates committed for product deliveries
    • Manages each project’s scope, budget, and timeline
    • Interacts with customers to understand technical aspects of the product and troubleshoot integration issues
    • Supports proposals

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development including a Product Owner role
    • Must have a good understanding of Agile frameworks
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate with product, engineering, and business partners, including proven ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail
    • Must have strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
    • Must have excellent organizational skills
    • Must be a U.S, citizen or a U.S. permanent residence card holder

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in safety-critical industry (e.g.: aviation, automotive, medical)
    • Familiarity with DO-178 processes
    • Familiarity with airborne connected servers a plus
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working with modern software engineering tools, languages, and practices.
    • Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus

    • OR, a related Bachelor’s or any Master’s degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years.

     

    RELATED DEGREE, CREDENTIAL, AND/OR OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN: Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, Computer Systems Analyst, Software Systems Developer, Web Developer, Database Administrator, Network Systems Administrator.
