  • Responsibilities

    Allied Services Integrated Health System is currently looking for an Assistant Director of Facilities. Allied Services is a large, multi-campus post-acute care healthcare system totaling over 700 beds. The facilities include Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation Hospitals, Personal Care, and Hospice units located throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

    Position Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Skills:

    • Provides support to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities in all aspects of the physical plant.

    • Possess the skills and abilities to proactively manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.

    • Jobs reporting to this position: Facility Managers, Electrician, Facility Services Supervisor, and Master Mechanics.

    • Schedules maintenance work with staff, monitoring work for completeness and efficiency.

    • Must possess strong planning, communication and decision making skills.

    • Ability to work well with and in support of other Assistant Directors, Managers and Supervisors to ensure work efficiency.

    • Determines need for outside services, monitoring services to ensure cost control.

    • Experience with commercial fire alarm systems and signaling devices.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics required.

    • Must be familiar with tools, equipment and systems required for operating and maintaining the Physical Plant.

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in operations and maintenance of Physical Plant. Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in a healthcare.

    • Military Veteran status is highly desirable.

    • High school graduate or equivalent.

    • Degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Facilities Management discipline is preferred.

    • Experience with building and life safety codes, Joint Commission standards and how they relate to building operation and construction.

    • CHFM, CHC preferred.

    • Responsibilities include: Oversight and managing of multi-skilled trades – including H.V.A.C and Electrical.

    • Complete understanding of NFPA 72, 99, 110, 101 and Joint Commission EOC and Life Safety standards is preferred and highly desirable.

  • Qualifications
    • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness. 
    • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
    • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.  
    • Thorough knowledge of buildingSMART, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
    • Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process.
    • Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
    • Possess strong hand and advanced CAD drafting skills.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferred.
    • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
    • Proficiency in Revit required.
    • Proficiency in NewForma preferred.
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work in team environment.
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
