    We are currently seeking a SUSTAINABLE DESIGN SPECIALIST to join our team in the WASHINGTON DC, ATLANTA OR TAMPA practice. As a Sustainable Design Specialist, you are responsible for providing LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel and sustainable design coordination, as well as energy and environmental analysis for planning, architecture, and interiors projects.  You will also contribute to marketing pursuits and participate in a broad range of sustainable consulting services. 

     

    2+ years experience and LEED Credential required. Candidates must upload work samples/portfolio or provide a link to an electronic version in order to be considered.

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support LEED Project Administration, sustainable design optimization, and green building policy compliance.
    • Goal setting and benchmarking projects under HOK’s AIA 2030 commitment.
    • Consulting with multiple internal design teams on LEED, WELL, Fitwel, BREEAM and sustainable projects.
    • Assist designers, clients, engineers and contractors with sustainable design implementation.
    • Support consulting on building and non-building projects and collaborating on firm wide sustainable design initiatives.
    • Participate in projects that include WELL, Fitwel, LEED, and BREEAM NC.  Projects will also include development of sustainable design and operations guidelines, policies and procedures.
    • Preparing materials for sustainable design awards.
    • Support sustainable design education program and credential maintenance for the practice.
    • Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices and operations.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of sustainability, building science, integrated design and 3rdparty certification processes.
    • Presentation and communication skills, including professional writing and basic graphic skills.
    • Experience with management of team/resources to undertake multiple projects or facets of various projects.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and information and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work in team environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
    • Proficiency with Affinity Design, Photo and Publisher.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop, Revit, Sketch-Up, Rhino and/or related software.
    • Experience and skills relating to energy and environmental performance preferred but not required:  Conceptual Energy Modeling; Daylight Analysis; Renewable Energy Systems and Lifecycle Analysis (LCA).

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor degree in architecture, mechanical or environmental engineering, interiors or sustainable design required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • 2+ years’ experience required.
    • LEED GA credential required; LEED specialty, WELL or Fitwel credential highly desirable.
