Great opportunity exists for a Compliance Specialist to join our dedicated team of professionals! Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Specialist plays a key role in several aspects of the Compliance Department functions and initiatives.
Supports the Director of Compliance in several areas of compliance, privacy, and security.
- Assists in internal audits or investigations, as assigned.
- Creates and/or maintains compliance documentation, in the form of Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, or Access databases.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the Quality, Compliance, and Improvement Division to improve quality in all assigned areas.
- Learns the essential functions of the Medical Records and Credentialing Department staff and provides assistance and back up support as needed.
- Manages special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn and master basic concepts of compliance, privacy, credentialing, and/or medical records.
- Proficiency in using various software applications including Word, Excel and Access.
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and problem-solve.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work as a member of a team, as well as the ability to work independently on assigned tasks or projects.
Required Experience
- Some knowledge of current laws and regulations regarding compliance, privacy, credentialing, and/or medical records.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance, privacy, medical records, credentialing, and/or electronic health records preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in human service, health care administration, business administration, or related field required.
- Prior experience working in health care or human services field is a plus.
