[Facilities Collage]
As a MAINTENANCE TECH I you will be joining our LABOR DEPARTMENT WITHIN FACILITIES SERVICES. Our team is made up of go-getters who enjoy working hard alongside a team of hardworking individuals with quality and safety in the forefront of their mind. Together our team is responsible for performing various general labor work such as snow removal, graduation, and special event setups, various moves on campus, concrete and asphalt maintenance, and signage. This position may also be asked to fill in for the shop supervisor in their absence by supervising temps, students, and other lower level employees.
As you would expect, this position will also work together with other craftspeople. Our Facilities Service team takes pride in providing excellent customer service and fostering an environment of respect and trust. As you may not expect or may not have experienced in your career, we encourage our team members to keep up with the ever-changing industry by actively encouraging them to advance their skills. For example, if the person in this position does not have a CDL, we will provide the resources to obtain a CDL. On the same note, the person hired into this position will expand their skills, abilities, and knowledge by learning Filter/ Lube/ Insulation Technician duties so that they may assist that shop when needed. In constant pursuit of being a better version of ourselves today than we were yesterday, we encourage engagement by actively listening (and actually listening) and considering ideas and suggestions from all team members in matters related to safety, incorporating new practices or the latest tools, materials, and techniques used to streamline work.
