HOK, a global multidisciplinary design firm, is seeking creative, innovative, and critical thinking designers to join our collaborative Landscape Architecture and Planning practice for a summer internship. We are seeking strong designers to participate in our landscape architecture projects as well as to become involved in our forward thinking design research efforts for a head start in developing their future careers. Our practice is driven by the desire to create strong, healthy communities, sustainable environments, and elevate quality of life through good design and we invite rising designers to become a part of this endeavor. Interns will have the opportunity to work on the full range of project phases.
- Works on a full range of assignments in supporting the delivery of all project phases and construction administration
- Works to gain experience in comprehensive preparation of master plan reports, construction documentation and the construction process.
- Displays ability to grasp design concepts and express graphically.
- Builds models for client/project team review.
- Compiles data and performs elementary design computations.
- Performs benchmarking research on programming, comparable projects and images.
- Assures HOK document standards are met and archives documents appropriately.
- Actively promotes collaborative and innovative culture.
- Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
Required Skills

- Ability to support project pursuit and marketing efforts (interview and proposal preparations)
- Proficiency in physical model building
- Proficiency in benchmarking research (programming, precedent projects, imagery curation)
- Proficiency in hand sketching and digital graphics (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Suite)
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D programs (AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp Revit, 3DS Max)
- Proficiency in visualization (Lumion, VRay, Enscape)
Required Experience
- Currently enrolled in landscape architecture, architecture or urban design program.
- Portfolio submission required for application review
