The primary responsibility of the Benefits Representative is to assist and support the administration and management of a wide range of benefit, wellness, and employee programs for Millennium Health. This position is the day-to-day contact for employees regarding benefit eligibility and enrollment inquiries, wellness initiatives, benefit record maintenance, and benefit transactions within the HRIS. Additionally, the Benefits Representative assists with EH&S employee programs, Worker’s Compensation claims management, and leave of absence administration. This position may also provide back-up support in other areas of the Human Resources function including, but not limited to compliance, HRIS, and employment.
- Primary contact to employees, insurance carriers, benefit broker, third-party administrators, and program related vendors.
- Participates in the onboarding of new employees by conducting benefits orientation
- Provide resolution for employee concerns regarding benefits plans, processes, systems and vendors, seeking guidance from and/or escalating concerns to management for complex issues.
- Supports and assists in ensuring federal and state compliance of employee benefit program, ensuring proper record retention, plan administration, and communication requirements.
- Responsible for benefit enrollment transactions within HRIS and audits records.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure timely processing of benefit and wellness related deductions and credits
- Responsible for billing reconciliation and invoice processing
- Assist in annual open enrollment process
- Partners with benefit manager to develop wellness initiatives and may lead various activities or programs
- Coordinates outside care for medical testing and health screenings
- Assists with administration of Worker’s Compensation claims
- Provides support for the Leave of Absence program
- May provide support to benefits manager for reporting, program design, and benefits program processes.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance in all aspects of the job by observing laws, regulations, and related obligations on behalf of Millennium Health.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of benefits administration principles and practices, with an understanding of workflow and relationship
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proactive communication and collaboration, and initiative to be engaged.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees at various professional levels and outside vendors.
- Ability and comfort speaking and presenting information to groups of various size.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive data and business operations.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Human Resources certification (such as SHRM-CP/SCP, SHRM-PHR/SPHR) or benefit certification (CBP/CEBS).
- Understanding of and experience with the principles of Federal and State leave laws such as FMLA, CFRA, and PDL, as well as ADA and FEHA.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in benefits concepts, administration, practices, regulations, and procedures related to ERISA, Section 125 plans, COBRA, and 401(k).
- Experience as a system administrator with ADP.

Required Experience
