    Shop Supervisor - Spokane/Airway Heights

    The Shop Supervisor coordinates and controls production activities to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules. Closely monitors day-to-day specific line production. Exotic Metals Forming Company is looking for an innovative Manufacturing Supervisor with solid people skills and leadership development experience to join our growing team. Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop staffing plans to meet production requirements.
    • Supports new product development, recommending ideas and processes.
    • Uses Exotic's scheduling system to manage production goals.
    • Uses data to create and implement cost improvement goals with team.
    • Promote and participate in Lean efforts.
    • Plans and implements quality improvement efforts with demonstrated success. Completes NC''s in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ensure employees are properly trained on best practices and techniques.
    • Utilizes Exotic's EDGE in teaching process disciplines to staff.
    • Cross-train employees in preparation for future opportunities.
    • Conduct effective daily crew meetings.
    • Follow established company policy and flow down to staff. Support management directives.
    • Ensure working environment is safe for employees.
    • Perform weekend OT coverage on a rotating schedule.
    • Perform administrative tasks effectively (i.e. timecards, PTO requests, purchase requisitions, etc.).
    • Create and foster open communication which encourages new ideas and innovation.
    • Practices BEST principles and creates culture of BEST within department.
    • Uses EDGE within staff to create and sustain process disciplines.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    Education, Skills, and Experience:

    • Prefer a 4-year manufacturing or engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
    • Two years leadership (formal or informal) in a manufacturing environment.
    • High level of emotional intelligence.
    • Work well with all levels of the organization.
    • Displays sound judgment.
    • Understand importance of process discipline.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
    • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and self motivation with an action-oriented bias.
    • Effective communication and teambuilding skills.
    • Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and responsibility as well as a commitment to company values and the organization.

    • Advanced knowledge about sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
    • Thorough knowledge of buildingSMART, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
    • Ability to work in team environment and supervise others.
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Proficiency in the basic technical skills of architecture including the following computer skills:
      • Proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper is required
      • Enscape, 3D Max, Revit and BIM is preferred
      • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software required
      • Knowledge of Affinity Suite is preferred
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
