Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Hostler Driver (Yard Driver) to support daily yard, dock, and transportation operations. In this role, you will be responsible for moving, spotting, and staging trailers to keep freight flowing efficiently. This position plays a critical role in maintaining yard organization, meeting outbound schedules, and supporting warehouse productivity.

SCHEDULE MON - FRI 8AM - 5PM $22 PER HOUR

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate hostler (yard goat) equipment to move and position trailers within the yard and dock areas
• Perform trailer spotting, switching, and staging based on real-time operational needs
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on hostler equipment and trailers
• Verify trailer numbers, seal integrity, and overall condition prior to movement
• Track and maintain accurate trailer locations and yard inventory using a Yard Management System (YMS)
• Communicate closely with dock supervisors, yard control, safety, and operations teams
• Prioritize trailer moves to support inbound arrivals and outbound shipping schedules
• Ensure trailers are placed in designated locations to maintain a safe, organized yard
• Identify and report equipment damage, trailer issues, or safety concerns immediately
• Support yard audits and inventory checks to ensure accuracy and compliance

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Hostler/Yard Driver preferred
• Strong awareness of yard safety and traffic flow
• Ability to read trailer numbers, seals, and yard documentation accurately
• Comfortable using yard tracking systems or handheld devices
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset
