    As the Director of Rooms you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services, valet services, concierge and uniformed services, housekeeping, laundry, and communications in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. The Director of Rooms is also overall responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and productivity, and developing managers and employees.The ideal Director of Rooms candidate will have: excellent communication skills in all aspects; professional and appropriate business appearance and presentation; 3-5 years experience in a comparable position in a full service hotel operation; excellent knowledge of all aspects of Rooms Division Operations; excellent organizational and administrative skills; excellent guest service and problem resolution skills; the flexibility to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation; and the ability to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting packages.The duties and responsibilities of a Director of Rooms include: coordinating the organization and administrative functions in all areas of the Rooms Division; ensuring total compliance with standards of operation; ensuring that staffing is maintained at an appropriate level to match business demand; participating in all regular and ad hoc operational meetings and in the formulation of strategic business plans; establishing monthly reporting system to monitor; handling all guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution; closely monitoring the financial performance of all departments, in particular monitoring all Rooms expenses to ensure that they are kept in line with budget; and providing solutions to improve problem areas and assisting in implementing corrective measures. Be a hands on leader to support all team members on days of check-in and checkouts.

    Requirements:

    Long hours sometimes required.

    Medium work-Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

    Ability to stand for long hours at a time.

    AS MOD, he/she will also spend some time moving about the hotel overseeing the various departments.

    Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly

    Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately

    Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results.

    Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

    Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

    Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc,. For various sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.

    Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.

    Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic function.
