We are searching for an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to be a strong leader and team builder. The ability to define success then provide the sales team with the direction and training needed to exceed departmental goals.
The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall revenue and market share results of the hotel and demonstrating excellent leadership. Implements strategies that support the positioning of the property in a team-spirited environment. Works hand in hand with the General Manager and the Management team to advise, guide and support on various sales functions and initiatives. Ensures financial and revenue goals are achieved and sales productivity benchmarks are met. You will be responsible for directing, coordinating, training, and supervising the Sales Manager for the hotel including direct sales efforts, follow-up and proper sales administration. He/she is also responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to ensure the Rooms and Catering revenues meet or exceed budget in order to maximize revenue and profits and to improve the hotel’s performance in the marketplace. Actively sell, conduct site visits, and provide exceptional service to internal and external guests. Ensure the hotel staff is knowledgeable about all sales programs and key accounts. Produce sales department reports on a timely basis and analyze short-term fluctuations and direct selling activities to maximize revenues. Utilize the various tools and resources provided by the brand and management company to carry out sales and marketing initiatives to drive overall revenues of the hotel to meet budgeted goals. Fundamental Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent education is required, with a college degree helpful. 1-3 years of experience as a hotel Director of Sales & Marketing is a plus. Clear, effective verbal and written English communication skills are essential. This position requires excellent organization skills and attention to detail. The ability to operate a telephone, computer and various software is expected, with Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge. A general understanding of sales operations is also helpful. Comply with all quality and safety standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other job duties as requested by Supervisors. We administer pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
