We are honored to work with New Community Transformation Fund to find a talented Contract, Operations Manager to further their mission in West Michigan.
New Community Transformation Fund, a Grand Rapids-based venture fund, intends to support and boost businesses owned by people of color in West Michigan. With its topnotch, high-achieving, and passionate leaders and consulting team, it seeks to expand ethnic and racial diversity in business ownership and concentrate on businesses that aim to provide multi-generational wealth creation within historically disadvantaged groups.
As the fund continues to grow, they are now ready to start hiring key players for their local team. They are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Operations Manager who has worked in a startup-like environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to set up their office and get processes in place. This will be a 3-6 month contract position as the NCTF ramps up for business in West Michigan.
How you will make a difference:
? This exciting position involves strategic guidance. You will help the organization accomplish its vision by partnering with a public accounting firm and legal counsel to ensure compliance with the entity and product formation and development.
? You will establish and maintain a strong data governance framework and build and implement operational policies and procedures.
? You will select technology platforms by sourcing and evaluating vendors and service providers, assessing functionality and performance, identifying risks, and analyzing value and costs, and integrate the chosen system into operations.
There is no one specific background for this role. You could shine here if:
? You are an operations expert or a project manager with startup experience who is hands-on and excels with minimal oversight.
? You are a proactive and solutions-oriented consultant who is more productive when taking charge and solving challenging problems.
? You are an ambitious and meticulous entrepreneur who wants a glimpse into the venture capital industry.
? You enjoy being the liaison with financial experts and compliance governing bodies
To land this gig:
? You need to have at least five (5) years of work experience supporting operations, investment, or a fundraising business.
? You are a self-starter who succeeds in an autonomous environment. You understand the goal, prioritize your tasks, and come up with effective ways to get things done.
? You are intrigued by technology and motivated to vet, learn, and execute new tools.
? You begin with the end in mind. We are looking for someone that sees the big picture of how this team will function 1-3 years from now and can set up the systems with that vision in mind.
