    POSITION SUMMARY

    Under minimal supervision, responsible for contributing to the execution of MEAU’s workforce strategy. Acting as the primary point of contact for job applicants, ensure a seamless hiring process that attracts and retains high-performing employees who align with MEAU’s values. Work within the talent acquisition function to continuously improve upon our internal processes and candidate experience by scheduling interviews, managing applicant tracking systems, organizing new hire orientation, arranging career fairs, and assisting with a variety of other recruitment-related tasks. This role will also manage the life cycle for our temporary workforce.

    Additionally, responsible for supporting HR department efforts for a variety of administrative tasks such as maintaining employee files, assisting with major department initiatives and projects, data entry and invoice processing.

    POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Recruiting (50%)

    • Responsible for full cycle recruitment efforts for approximately 3-5 positions on a regular basis.
    • Act as support administrator for Applicant Tracking and Onboarding software (Rival)
    • Follow and execute MEAU’s established recruiting process for assigned roles
    • Source potential candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks to identify qualified candidates
    • Assist in reviewing and screening resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates
    • Schedule and coordinate interviews, both in-person and virtual, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place
    • Provide exceptional candidate experience by communicating timely and effectively with candidates throughout the recruitment process
    • Support hiring managers and HR team members throughout the recruitment process to ensure consistency in quality communication for the team and the candidate.
    • Assist in drafting and sending offer letters and employment contracts
    • Process new hire background screenings and reference checks
    • Support the onboarding process by ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and new hires and hiring managers have the information needed for a smooth transition
    • Support HR department by organizing bi-monthly New Hire Orientations
    • Communicate regularly with the HR Recruiting team for the purpose of keeping up to date on position status and any changes to the workforce plan
    • Prepare reports on new hire metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire) and complete month-end reports in a timely manner
    • Design candidate experience surveys and analyze feedback
    • Work with partner recruiting agencies and maintain good relationships as required

    Temporary Administration

    • Administer all aspects of temporary workers by communicating company needs with agencies and holding temporary worker orientations
    • Maintain relationships with key staffing agency contacts and ensure contracts are up to date for all agencies
    • Create and send HR Notifications (HRNOTOs) regarding incoming and departing temporary workers
    • Process temporary to direct hire conversions via Rival onboarding software
    • Process all invoices from temporary worker partner agencies
    • Administer temporary semi-annual bonus program

    Career Programs and Events

    • Responsible for the recruitment of MEAU interns and the coordination with hiring managers
    • Responsible to lead career events for hiring initiatives, such as university career fairs including the coordination of travel, event planning, time management and debriefing.
    • Maintain relationships with our target schools, staffing organizations and university partners
    • Compile and coordinate equipment/collateral logistics for job fairs and events

    General Administrative

    • Analyze current HR processes and practices to make recommendations for improvements and overhauls as needed
    • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, including occasional data entry projects
    • Communicate and escalate issues that arise to appropriate HR Team members as needed and appropriate
    • Create and maintain employee files, keeping up with regular filing and periodic audits
    • Working closely with IT, monitor the return of company owned equipment from exiting staff
    • Provide support in the administration of major initiatives and projects
    • Coordinate breakfast/lunch orders and deliveries for HR sponsored functions
    • Assist with creating and distributing internal memos and other internal communications to employees
    • Complete month end reports and Huddle Board preparation as assigned
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Travel Requirements
    Occasional, limited travel for career fairs, university partnerships, and training

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma
    • 3 or more years of experience in a recruiting or general human resources role
    • Experience with various recruiting strategies, such as sourcing, screening, and interviewing methods
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Desire to take ownership of your work, with a continuous improvement mindset
    • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Ability to use discretion when handling sensitive data

    The target pay range for this position is $75-85k annually. The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.

    Requirements

    • Ability to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Interior design or sales experience/knowledge a plus but not required.
    • Physically able to be on your feet and move throughout our showrooms over an 8-12 hour work day.
    • Ability to maintain emotional composure in a professional business setting with customers, peers and management.
    • Strong work ethic and dependability a must
    • General computer proficiency
    • Professional dress required

    Work performed in a store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopies and fax machines. Use of personal cell phone for customer contact and follow up and personal computer tablet for room sketching. Regularly required to view, see, manipulate and handle product to demonstrate to customers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee continuously walks or stands on the store’s showroom floor. Stands for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and required to lift and carry small items up to 30 pounds, such as lamps, etc
