Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, payroll support, benefits administration, and policy implementation. This role requires knowledge of California employment laws and a commitment to maintaining a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace. The position also plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of both the HR team and the broader organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Administer and support HR programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with federal, state (including California), and local laws.
· Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and employment practices.
· Support payroll processes, including timecard review and reconciliation, and coordination with payroll providers to help ensure accuracy and compliance.
· Assist in recruitment efforts for the operations team, including job postings, candidate screening, scheduling, and coordination.
· Conduct interviews and collaborate with hiring managers to support effective hiring decisions.
· Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation and exit procedures.
· Maintain employee records and HRIS data in accordance with recordkeeping requirements.
· Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting concerns, and partnering with HR leadership to address issues appropriately.
· Coordinate benefits administration, including employee enrollments, changes, and communications; serve as a liaison with benefits providers.
· Assist with leave of absence administration, including compliance with applicable laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDL).
· Participate in performance management processes, including tracking reviews and supporting managers.
· Support training and development initiatives, including compliance training.
· Ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times.
· Perform additional duties, whether or not specifically outlined, as needed to support the growth and success of the HR team and the organization.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in California.
· Working knowledge of California labor laws and regulations.
· Experience supporting payroll processes and benefits administration preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
· Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
· HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
· Experience in multi-state HR operations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
· Primarily works in an office environment; may require prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
· Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Compensation
· Salary range:$75,000 -$90,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
· This position may be eligible for bonuses and/or incentives.
