Company Summary:
Our client is a large civil contractor based out of the Western New York area, headquartered in Western New York with offices in NY and one in NC.
They will perform work anywhere along the eastern seacoast. They have successfully completed multiple projects in various states including Ohio, Alabama, PA and more.
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will support the HR Manager by processing, recording, and maintaining essential documents, correspondence, and reports. Seeking a dynamic, self-starting generalist with the ability to collaborate with all levels of employees, management, and external business partners maximizing performance, problem solving, and results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Managing integration of new employees into the company, ensuring all new hire paperwork is accurate and complete along and reviewing employee benefits information.
- Reviewing and entering I9 documentation in E-Verify.
- Ensuring new hire compliance with required sexual harassment training and coordinate completion of assigned safety training modules.
Employee Relations:
- Serving as primary contact for employee inquiries.
- Assisting with conflict resolution.
- Conducting investigations regarding misconduct or harassment cases.
Performance Management:
- Assisting management with annual performance reviews, feedback cycles, and developing performance improvement plans.
Payroll:
- Assisting with creation and preparation of payroll reports.
- Serve as a backup for payroll management and field payroll.
Benefits, FMLA, and 401(k) Administration:
- Administering medical and retirement plans.
- Running reports on new hire eligibility and providing and reviewing materials once they’re eligible.
- Reviewing benefit applications ensuring information is accurate and complete.
- Processing termination of benefits and request COBRA notices from vendor.
- Complete spreadsheets to reconcile monthly bills.
- Serve as point of contact for employees and vendors.
- Participating in annual open enrollment.
- Managing Paid Family Leave and disability requests.
- Maintaining accurate personnel records and I9’s.
Qualifications/Requirement:
- An Associate’s degree, preferably Bachelor’s in Human Resources.
- 3 or more years of human resources experience.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, PWP, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
