Human Resources Job Responsibilities:
Maintains and enhances the company’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Job Duties:
Maintain employee staff by recruiting, testing, and interviewing candidates; conduct exit interviews
Conduct orientation and training
Process employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data
Input employee time and attendance records
Maintain employee benefits programs – Insurance and Retirement
Process Certified Payroll as required
Implements human resource federal and state requirements
Maintains professional and technical knowledge of human resources
Maintain 401k contributions
Skills and Qualifications:
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
3+ years of HR experience (construction or trades industry preferred)
Self‑driven and able to take initiative without constant supervision
Personable and approachable, able to build rapport with field crews, supervisors, and leadership
Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Skilled in conflict resolution and employee relations
Comfortable working in a dynamic, sometimes high‑pressure environment
Ability to recruit for skilled trades, laborers, and project management roles
Experience with workers’ compensation claims and return‑to‑work programs
Knowledge of prevailing wage requirements
