    HR GENERALIST

    Position Summary

    The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day human resources, payroll, and recruiting functions within the organization. Working closely with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and staffing agency partners, this role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, manages the full employee lifecycle from recruiting through offboarding, coordinates temporary staffing needs, and supports a positive employee experience. This is a hands-on role well-suited for someone who is organized, people-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Payroll

    • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time through the PEO platform
    • Verify timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity prior to each payroll run
    • Respond to employee payroll questions and coordinate corrections as needed
    • Maintain payroll records and run payroll-related reports

    Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

    • Manage full-cycle recruiting for open positions, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and extending offers
    • Write and post job descriptions to Indeed, LinkedIn, and other relevant job boards
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a positive experience
    • Coordinate interview scheduling with hiring managers and provide timely feedback to candidates
    • Conduct reference checks and background screenings in accordance with company policy
    • Maintain applicant tracking and ensure recruiting records are accurate and up to date
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for frequently hired roles

    Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

    • Add new employees to the PEO system
    • Coordinate new hire paperwork, I-9 verification, and system access setup
    • Facilitate new hire orientation to ensure a smooth first-day experience
    • Process employee terminations in the PEO system, ensuring accurate final pay, benefits termination, and offboarding documentation
    • Serve as a point of contact for employees navigating the PEO portal

    Temporary Staffing Agency Coordination

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and the temp agency for day-to-day workforce needs
    • Submit staffing requests to the agency and coordinate placement of temporary workers into open positions
    • Manage the onboarding of temp workers, including orienting them to company policies, facilities, and expectations
    • Track temporary worker assignments, hours, and performance; communicate feedback or concerns to the agency as needed
    • Coordinate temp-to-hire conversions, including transitioning workers from agency payroll to the company PEO system
    • Maintain accurate records of all active temp placements and agency invoices or billing confirmations

    Reporting & Recordkeeping

    • Generate standard and ad hoc HR and payroll reports as requested by management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both physical and digital
    • Track PTO, leave balances, and other employee data within the system
    • Assist with compliance reporting as required by the PEO or applicable regulations

    General HR Support

    • Serve as the primary internal contact for day-to-day HR questions, routing complex matters to the PEO as appropriate
    • Support open enrollment and benefits administration in coordination with the PEO
    • Assist with maintaining the employee handbook and HR policy documentation
    • Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion

    Qualifications

    **** Required

    • ****3+ years of experience in HR, with exposure to both payroll and recruiting
    • Prior experience working within a PEO platform (e.g., Paychex, TriNet, Insperity, ADP TotalSource, or similar)
    • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, screening, and offer coordination
    • Experience interfacing with a temporary staffing agency or managing a contingent workforce
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly with numbers and deadlines
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
    • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

    Preferred

    • Experience processing payroll on a weekly cycle
    • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
    • Familiarity with temp-to-hire conversion processes
    • Familiarity with I-9 compliance and basic employment law
    • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
    • PHR, SHRM-CP, or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) a plus

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $55,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience
