    HR Generalist

    Position Summary

    The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, with a strong focus on employee relations, workplace investigations, and policy compliance. This role partners with employees and management to foster a positive work environment, ensure consistent application of HR practices, and support the overall employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.


    Key Responsibilities

    Employee Relations

    • Serve as a primary contact for employee concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts

    • Conduct timely, thorough, and objective workplace investigations

    • Document findings, interviews, and recommendations in accordance with company standards

    • Advise managers on corrective action, performance issues, and disciplinary procedures

    • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and employment laws

    • Support termination, disciplinary, and performance improvement processes

    • Identify trends in employee relations issues and recommend preventive strategies

    HR Generalist Functions

    • Support full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, interviewing coordination, and onboarding

    • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes

    • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data

    • Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries

    • Support performance review processes and goal setting initiatives

    • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations

    • Participate in HR projects, training initiatives, and policy updates

    • Promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

    • 3–5 years of HR Generalist or Employee Relations experience

    • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices

    • Experience conducting workplace investigations preferred

    • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities


    Preferred Skills

    • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification

    • Experience in both union and non-union environments (if applicable)

    • HRIS experience (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.)

    • Strong conflict resolution and coaching skills

    • Ability to work independently while supporting a broader HR team
