A well known clothing boutique with 10 locations is expanding its HR function and hiring an HR Manager to work closely with the Controller and CEO. This is a hands on role focused on building structure, improving processes, and supporting a growing employee base across multiple locations.
This position is four days onsite and one day remote, based in Oxnard.
What you’ll be doing:
Own end to end payroll processing for approximately 120 employees
Manage benefits, retirement plans, and vendor relationships
Lead hiring, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
Ensure compliance with California labor and employment regulations
Support HR systems, policies, and internal process improvements
Partner closely with leadership on people operations and growth initiatives
Ideal background:
Experience supporting a workforce of roughly 100–150 employees
Strong payroll, benefits, and compliance experience in California
Background in manufacturing, retail, or multi location environments is a plus
Comfortable working independently with no direct reports initially
Ability to collaborate cross functionally with accounting and leadership
