Position Overview
A food manufacturer is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources in a unionized facility. This is a hands-on role managing payroll, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compliance, with a strong emphasis on supporting a bilingual workforce (Spanish-speaking majority). The HR Manager will be a key partner to leadership in maintaining a productive, fair, and compliant work environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Union facility experience, including grievance and labor relations
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Strong payroll and day-to-day HR operations background
Skilled in recruitment, hiring, firing, and onboarding/offboarding
Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Discreet and professional with sensitive employee matters
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance
Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes
Handle benefits administration, including health, PTO, and leave policies
Serve as primary point of contact for union matters and labor negotiations
Investigate employee concerns and maintain compliance with labor laws
Maintain accurate HR records and employee files
Provide HR guidance to management and employees
Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
Qualifications & Must-Haves
3–5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws
Bilingual in Spanish a strong advantage
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
