  • Responsibilities

    The New Washington State Bank is looking for a talented HR Manager to add to our team! This position is responsible for the development and execution of HR policies, oversees recruitment, benefits administration and employee relations, and ensures alignment of HR strategies with business goals. This position will manage the day to day operations of the department and will stay up to date on federal and state laws.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Oversees HR functions within the Bank and works with management to set strategic goals from HR perspective

    Manages recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, and interviewing candidates.

    Conducts onboarding and orientation for new hires as well as exit interviews for terminations.

    Processes open enrollment and assists employees with their insurance related questions and needs.

    Serve as the point of contact for employee inquires regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.

    Processes payroll and is the administration for the HRIS system. .

    Manages compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.

    Monitors relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations and ensures that company policies/practices remain in compliance.

    Stays up to date with changing laws and regulations and attends additional training/education when needed.

    Submits reporting requirements such as the EECO, CMS Part D Disclosures, etc. in a timely manner in accordance with federal and state requirements.

    Acts as a liaison between employees and management to foster positive working relationships.

    Designs and implements performance management systems to boost employee engagement and accountability.

    Supports organization changes through workforce planning and development strategies.

    Maintains accurate documentation such as personnel files, FMLA paperwork, compliance records, and HR metrics.

    Organized with a sense of strong time management and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

    Ability to take initiative and utilize sound judgment in decision-making, diplomacy and tact, in problem resolution taking into consideration the risk posed to the bank.

    Understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all aspects of The New Washington State Bank and its employees.

    Ability to analyze and interpret various laws/regulations as well as bank policies to ensure compliance.

    Demonstrated ability to work and lead a team environment, interacting well and in a positive manner, with staff, co-workers and senior management.

    High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Ability to present a professional image.

    Comfortable with computer programs and willingness to learn in order to excel in use of all systems including core system, CSI, Word, Excel, etc.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; five to seven years of related human resource experience and/or training

    Formal certifications recognized in the industry such as HR Certification PHR, SHRM-CP preferred .
