About Us Perspire Sauna Studio is a premium infrared sauna studio focused on wellness, recovery, and exceptional guest experience. We’re seeking a hands-on HR Manager to support hiring, onboarding, and team development for our studio staff, helping drive great service, retention, and operational consistency.
Role Overview Own HR operations for the studio with a focus on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and HR administration for Studio Assistants and Membership Sales Associates. Partner with the Studio Manager and ownership to build a scalable people program that improves hiring quality, reduces turnover, and supports a positive workplace culture. Reports to the Studio Manager and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment for Studio Assistants and Membership Sales Associates: job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
Develop and maintain clear job descriptions, interview guides, and hiring scorecards.
Lead onboarding and orientation programs; create and update training materials and checklists.
Train and coach new hires and front-line staff on service standards, sales basics, policies, and studio operations.
Support scheduling, time-off requests, and shift coverage to maintain adequate staffing levels.
Administer HR records, employment documentation, payroll inputs, and compliance with local/state labor laws.
Implement and maintain performance review processes, progressive discipline, and employee development plans.
Promote employee engagement and retention through recognition programs, feedback loops, and culture initiatives.
Advise leadership on HR best practices, policy updates, and workforce planning.
Coordinate with external partners (payroll provider, benefits brokers, background check vendors) as needed.
Qualifications
3+ years HR experience with hands-on recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations; experience in retail, hospitality, wellness, or small business environments preferred.
Strong interviewer and candidate-evaluation skills; experience hiring entry-level and customer-facing roles.
Knowledge of employment laws, HR recordkeeping, and basic payroll processes.
Excellent communication, organization, and project-management skills; detail-oriented.
Comfortable training and coaching front-line staff; customer-service mindset.
Proficient with HRIS/ATS, scheduling tools, and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-Haves
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
Experience with hourly staffing, retail or studio operations, and performance management systems.
Familiarity with wellness, fitness, or spa industry.
