    Position Summary: The Human Resource Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and provides support for and facilitates the HR processes across all business locations. This position's primary purpose is to carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.

    Safety Responsibilities:

    Participate in the safety program and attend regularly scheduled safety trainings.

    Assist in providing employees with safety equipment and support the Operations Manager with safety orientations.

    Follow all safety policies.

    Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.

    Drive defensively, avoid preventable accidents, and always wear a seatbelt.

    Report all unsafe conditions to the Safety Manager.

    Assist in training new hires on safety orientation and policies.

    Other Duties:

    Reports to: President and Vice Presidents

    Essential Functions and Duties:

    Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintain and update the employee handbook and related policies and procedures manual.

    Support the preparation and facilitation of the performance review process. Monitor and revise the performance evaluation program as needed.

    Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations (Medical, Life, STD, LTD, FSA, HSA, Dental, COBRA, 401K, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and Unemployment).

    Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate records and proper deductions; approve benefit invoices for payment.

    Communicate benefits information to employees.

    Act as a liaison between the benefits broker, insurance companies, and employees.

    Advise managers on sensitive employee relations issues, including compliance, complaints, discrimination, and sexual harassment.

    Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, consulting with legal or other internal departments as needed.

    Handle employee relations matters, investigate complaints, and conduct exit interviews.

    Develop and deliver training for management and employees.

    Serve as the company’s EEO Officer; develop and maintain the affirmative action program, file EEO-1 reports annually, and maintain compliance records and logs.

    Participate as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council, maintaining documentation related to the program and its goals.

    Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.

    Assist the Operations Manager with recruiting efforts, new employee orientations, and creating job advertisements. Track applicant status and maintain communication with candidates.

    Track HR metrics and conduct routine audits of HR processes.

    Perform clerical functions including filing, faxing, and maintaining employee records.

    Coordinate employee and company-wide events and functions.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk for extended periods, perform clerical tasks, and occasionally drive company vehicles. Physical activity may include standing, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, and lifting office supplies up to 25 pounds.

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to uneven, soft, saturated, or frozen walking surfaces and other potentially precarious environments. The noise level is typically moderate.
