  • Responsibilities

    BlackRock’s HR Risk Advisory & Monitoring team is responsible for managing global compliance programs designed to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate human capital risks in the regions where we do business.

    This position will be an integral member of BlackRock’s HR Risk Advisory & Monitoring team, supporting the management of key HR risk programs. This includes performing risk assessments and due diligence on escalated operating errors and control failures; producing analysis and reporting to ensure identification and mitigation of risks across HR functions; monitoring the effectiveness of controls designed to meet regulatory and legal obligations; updating policies and trainings designed to mitigate enterprise risk; and supporting on focused projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage reported operating incidents using escalation platform (Archer)s; perform due diligence risk assessments to analyze root cause and accurately record operating incident types. Prepare reports based on operating incident data.
    • Support HR Information Security controls relating to termination and transfer of employees; monitor automated reports to identify delays in processing terminations and transfers and perform due diligence and engage partners to identify root cause; prepare monthly reports. .
    • Respond to inquiries received from client service teams regarding HR practices, processes and policies, and ensure accurate and consistent is provided to prospective and current clients.
    • Serve as HR Risk Partner as part of the firm’s Third-Party Risk framework, by reviewing responses to Due Diligence Questionnaires from third-party vendors using Third-Party Risk Management platform (KY3P); determine appropriateness of responses provided, and flag/report inadequate responses using established review protocols.
    • Contribute as team member for HR policies; timely and regular review of metadata associated with HR policies, guidelines and standards.
    • Draft communications and presentations (including training content and quick reference guides) relating to HR Risk Management protocols.
    • Provide risk partner consultative support throughout the remediation of risks and issues identified via audits and risk reviews.
    • Assist with other HR risk related projects as needs arise.

    The successful candidate is organized, able to think critically, demonstrates attention to detail, is highly effective at communicating analysis, recommendations and conclusions both verbally and written, adaptable and able to prioritize in periods of ambiguity, and can positively collaborate and build trust with internal partners at various levels across the organization. Basic knowledge of human resources processes, risk/compliance management concepts, and/or employment laws is strongly preferred.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience in an HR, compliance, or risk management role
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience with HR processes and functions and/or developing HR policies, guidelines and procedures

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in a related area (MBA or JD)
    • Experience working in a global, large-scale, complex, and fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and drive forward results
    • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
    • Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary, sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
    • Proven analytical capabilities; experience with large amounts of data and in developing audit reports, metrics, and reporting mechanisms
    • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn new skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with immigration, right-to-work, work authorization
    • Experience with privacy compliance programs in Human Resources functions
