    HR Solutions is hiring for a BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST to start immediately in their Baton Rouge office.

    POSITION SUMMARY 

    Reporting to the CFO, the Bookkeeper Accounting Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution and reporting of AP and AR.  In addition, provides financial, administrative and clerical support by posting transactions, invoicing and account reconciliation.

    ACCOUNTING SUPPORT:

    • Analyzes and processes payments and transactions
    • Reviews invoices for proper coding, documentation and approval prior to payment
    • Reviews and reconciles invoice discrepancies
    • Maintain files and AP vendor information
    • Ensures all client invoices are accurately and timely managed
    • Monitors A/R aging report to ensure timely payments and to fix minor discrepancies
    • Research and solve invoice discrepancies and issues
    • Confirm amounts in G/L entries
    • Reconciles AP and AR reports
    • Assists with the preparation of reports and analysis as directed by the CFO
    • Assists with month-end closing activities
    • Maintain existing procedures and improve payable and receivable procedures as approved

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
    • Minimum 7 years accounting experience
    • Extensive knowledge of Reconciliations, Financial Statements, and Reporting
    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
    • Experience with QuickBooks highly desired
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a busy office environment
    • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
    • Self-starter with strong follow through and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
    • Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
    • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
    • Excellent data entry skills
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
    • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
    • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently or as a team member
    • Good judgment and ability to learn new things quickly
    • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
