    Job Description

    LOCATION: REMOTE POSITION / WORK FROM HOMERole We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master with a background in Project Management and Application Engineering with a focus on meeting key performance objectives on all application engineering projects as well as the long-term development of the team and improvement in our practices. As a Scrum Master you will provide effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills to the agile development process and on-time delivery of applications. This role is responsible for developing all scrum ceremonies, identifying critical path decisions, making recommendations, mentoring members as well as assisting with the backlog and release planning. Additionally, this role participates in estimating work efforts, assists in resolving business and team conflicts and planning sprints for software development projects. We are looking for candidates who are decisive, confident, and tenacious in their decision making with exceptional leadership qualities.

    Responsibilities

    1. Ensure predictable software delivery for the business.
    2. Engage with stakeholders to accurately report progress, risks, successes, and failures
    3. Maintain a close working relationship with the product owner, scrum team, and other stakeholders such as product end users
    4. Lead working session meetings to discuss scope, schedule and requirements with product owners
    5. Captures/updates user story details
    6. Creates Mock-ups and wireframes
    7. Help Product Owners with prioritization, risk management, and scope
    8. Manage product quality, releases and delivery
    9. Oversee and manage implementations of various agile techniques such as TDD, BDD, Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, DevOps support all inter and intra team communication
    10. Manage lightweight, living planning documents, like an Agile Product Roadmap.
    11. Conduct all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, daily Scrum Meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
    12. Perform continuous and active backlog grooming
    13. Calculate ongoing team capacity and velocity
    14. Act as a mentor to ensure development teams work toward the core Scrum principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
    15. Establish shared product vision across the development team, product owner and lead product execution
    16. Assists with QA activity when needed
    17. Strives to become an expert in systems

    Preferred Skills

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Product Manager for a software development team.
    • Hands-on experience leading multiple Scrum teams in a variety of contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
    • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
    • First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM) preferred
    • Knowledge of other Agile methodologies like Kanban
    • Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing
    • Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and the Atlassian suite
    • Experience using JIRA's Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement

    Additional Notes Must be able to work independently and successfully with limited supervision.
