    Practice Lead, HRIS (PATT)

    POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

    Aligned Solutions is seeking an HRIS Practice Lead for a well respected company. The Practice Lead, HRIS (Workday) serves as the strategic and technical leader responsible for advancing the organization’s Workday HCM ecosystem. This role oversees a team of HRIS professionals dedicated to optimizing Workday to drive efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality employee experiences. Acting as both a hands-on Workday configuration expert and a trusted business partner, the Practice Lead ensures HR technology initiatives support the organization’s mission and long-term strategic goals.

    This people leader drives governance, continuous improvement, and system innovation to support HR, Payroll, Accounting, and Finance through scalable, automated, and data-driven solutions.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead, mentor, and develop 1–3 direct reports with a focus on accountability, growth, and excellence

    • Serve as the Workday functional partner, managing prioritization, technology roadmap, resource planning, governance, stakeholder expectations, product delivery, and operational efficiency

    • Establish governance frameworks, change-management standards, and quality-assurance processes to ensure consistent, compliant, and reliable Workday delivery

    • Partner with organizational stakeholders to align Workday capabilities with strategic goals and business processes

    • Lead configuration for Workday Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Core and Advanced Compensation, including business process design, calculated fields, condition rules, EIBs, security, and reporting

    • Oversee functional system architecture to ensure scalability, regulatory compliance, security, and performance

    • Translate complex business needs into effective, well-documented technical solutions—from discovery through POC, UAT/QA, deployment, and post-launch support

    • Monitor Workday releases and proactively assess new capabilities for adoption, particularly in automation, AI-driven insights, and user-experience improvements

    • Manage data integrity through audits, controls, and governance practices

    • Develop dashboards and analytics to support data-driven decision-making across HR and the broader organization

    • Ensure compliance with data privacy, regulatory standards, and ethical data practices

    • Serve as an escalation point for complex system issues, providing innovative and sustainable solutions

    • Oversee Workday-related projects from initiation to deployment, including enhancements, integrations, and cross-functional initiatives

    • Coach team members on technical design, documentation, and service delivery

    • Foster a collaborative, continuous-improvement culture centered on operational excellence and employee satisfaction

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field

    • 7+ years of progressive HRIS experience, including 5+ years of hands-on PATT configuration and system administration; additional Workday HCM configuration experience (Core HCM, Payroll, Comp, Benefits, Time Tracking, Security, Reporting) is a plus

    • 3+ years in a leadership role managing and developing direct reports

    • Experience configuring multi-state payroll for organizations with 5,000+ employees

    • Strong understanding of HR and payroll processes, data governance, and digital transformation in large-scale organizations

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, consultative, and stakeholder-management skills

    • Demonstrated success balancing strategic planning with hands-on configuration and delivery

    • Proven ability to build credibility and trust through clear, transparent communication

    • Workday Certification in Payroll required; additional certifications (Core HCM, Compensation, Security, Reporting) preferred

    • Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries is a plus
