HRIS Specialist – Workday

Position Overview
The HRIS Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) initiatives within the construction management industry. As a Workday subject matter expert, this position will focus on HCM, Security Administration, and Advanced Compensation modules to ensure that the organization’s HR technology ecosystem operates efficiently, securely, and in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
This role will be instrumental in enhancing data integrity, optimizing HR processes, and providing actionable analytics to support strategic workforce decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Workday HCM, Security roles, and Advanced Compensation modules to ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with policies.
Configure, test, and implement system changes or enhancements to meet evolving business needs with minimal disruption to HR operations.
Support annual compensation processes, including merit cycles, bonus programs, and related reporting to ensure accurate and timely execution.
Manage user roles, permissions, and security groups, maintaining appropriate access levels across the organization.
Conduct regular data audits and implement quality controls to maintain accurate employee records.
Develop and deliver custom reports and dashboards that provide actionable workforce insights to business leaders.
Ensure HRIS practices align with data privacy, security, and compliance standards.
Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance to align HR technology solutions with business objectives.
Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing system support.
Participate in system upgrades, module deployments, and other HR technology projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5 years of HRIS experience, preferably in a specialist or analyst role.
Hands-on Workday expertise in HCM, Security, and Advanced Compensation modules required.
Advanced Excel and Workday reporting experience essential.
Previous HRIS support experience in construction management or a project-driven workforce environment preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to manage complex system requirements and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Workday Certifications in HCM, Security, or Compensation preferred.
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) a plus.
Familiarity with industry-specific compliance requirements in construction preferred.
