    Job Description

    BEST FIT: Someone with a experience as a Windows Administrator and a Bachelor's in Computer Science or related.

    POSITION: Windows Administrator

    PAY RANGE: up to $32/hour, depending on experience

    BENEFITS: Kicks in after a full 30 days working in a given Month - Health Insurance, 401k, Dental and Vision Insurance etc.

    PTO: You accrue 1 hour per 35 hours worked in Michigan in which is State Mandated, 5 PTO in a year usable after full 90 days worked.

    SHIFT: 9/80 shift. 9 hours shifts for 9 days and every other Friday off.

    LOCATION: Sterling Heights, MI

    DURATION: Long term Contract, no end date, possibility of Direct Hire depending on performance

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    STRATEGY & PLANNING

    • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers

    ACQUISITION & DEPLOYMENT

    • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives
    • Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems

    OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

    • Manage all Wintel operating systems and supporting applications (WINS, DNS, DHCP, DC,DFS-N etc.)
    • Configure and Manage Azure GCC High Tenant
    • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
    • Manage and report on utilization and capacity of server fleet
    • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
    • Perform network and security audits
    • Establish, document, and perform and test routine system backups and restores
    • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers. Escalate incidents as necessary
    • Practice asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
    • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles
    • Analyze system, server, application, storage, and backup device performance
    • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
    • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts
    • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

    FORMAL EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

    • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related is preferred
    • Experience will be considered in lieu of degree
    • 3-5 years of experience as a windows administrator
    • Certifications in Microsoft solutions, VMWare, Authentication, virtualization, Cloud Technologies are desired.

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    • Working technical knowledge of copper, fiber, and Storage networking, as well as platform operating systems, including Storage, Virtualization, Backup
    • Experience managing and deploying to Microsoft Azure is desired.
    • Support experience with Microsoft server, Clustering, VMWare, Netbackup / Rubrik, Networker
    • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including (Active Directory, RSA, MFA, Powershell, automation, etc.)
    • Knowledge of local area network administration
    • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
    • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
    • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environments
    • Experience working with outside vendors such as Dell, Microsoft, Oracle, EMC, etc.
    • Experience in the Defense Industry preferred, but not required
