This role will located in Biddeford, ME. Candidates must be local and able to work in a hybrid capacity (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home). A generous relocation package is available for non-local candidates.
Compensation:
$80K/yr to $130K/yr (negotiable depending on experience)
Candidate Requirements:
This role is with a major defense contractor, and all candidates must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance (candidates do NOT need a secret clearance to start). Obtaining a secret clearance requires US Citizenship. Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders), and all other visas (H1B, F1, TN, etc) are not permitted here. This role is NOT open to corp2corp (C2C) or corp2hire (C2H) – no exceptions.
Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an innovative defense contractor to find a Systems Engineer for our facility in Biddeford, ME. The Systems Engineer is responsible for overall system specification, design, and validation for both current and future products. The candidate should have a passion for systems development and a sense of ownership that will lead to the development of next-generation products. This position works closely with mechanical, electronic, and software engineering resources to develop and demonstrate product architectures. This position also works closely with program management personnel in a project team environment.
Essential Functions:
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary development team including mechanical, electronics, and software designers to develop system and subsystem architectures for vehicle and soldier electronics applications.
• Derive system requirements from customer requirements and performance specifications.
• Analyze and decompose system requirements to define key performance characteristics.
• Lead System Modeling definition with a firm understanding of system boundaries, interfaces, behaviors, and states and modes.
• Lead system-level trade studies and analysis.
• Integrate and test products in a System Integration Lab or Hardware-in-the-Loop environment.
• Assist in the development and execution of subsystem and system-level qualification testing.
• Analyze and optimize system performance and manage upgrades.
• Define and support formal verification and validation for product launch.
• Manage relationships with project stakeholders to ensure performance is optimized.
• Coordinate and directly participate in product and technology transfer efforts with US and foreign divisions.
• Support the VP Engineering by performing other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications / Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or other relevant technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical role.
• Experience in systems-based design and related Standards/Processes including System Modeling (e.g., Rhapsody or Cameo).
• Experience in systems development, manufacturing, and validation testing.
• Applied working knowledge of vehicle and/or combat systems.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their control.
• Working knowledge of product development throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Motivated and self-directed.
• Demonstrated leadership ability while working well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience:
• Master’s Degree in a relevant area.
• Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and DoD processes.
• Familiarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC organizations.
• Experience of working in a multi-national, multi-organizational, and corporate environment.
• Experience with US Department of Defense contracts and requirements.
Work Environment:
• 1st (day) shift position
• This role will located in Biddeford, ME. Candidates must be local and able to work in a hybrid capacity (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days from home). A generous relocation package is available for non-local candidates.
• Candidates must undergo and meet company standards for background checks, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing (drug screen). Drug screen will include cannabis.
• This role may occasionally involve travel, but it will not be a major aspect of the role (less than 25%).
• Must be able to maintain composure in dealing with executives, customers, and staff, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
• Will perform the majority of duties in an office environment with occasional exposure to hazards of production environment requiring protective equipment.
• May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
• May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• May be required to move boxes or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to maintain a stationary position (sitting) 75% of the time.
• Must be able to move about inside the office to access materials, supplies, and office machinery.
