    Summary:

    Our award-winning client is seeking an HSE Specialist to join their team. We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team.


    In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing, implementing, and continually enhancing our HSE programs, ensuring full compliance with all relevant governmental regulations.


    Responsibilities:

    • Champion Safety: Drive a positive safety culture through engaging awareness campaigns and incentive programs.

    • Ensure Compliance: Maintain continuous adherence to HSE standards and all federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Report & Document: Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports.

    • Develop & Implement: Create and execute site-specific HSE standards and programs aimed at achieving best-in-class performance.

    • Manage Waste: Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and shipments in compliance with regulations.

    • Train & Coach: Provide comprehensive training and coaching on HSE programs, ensuring employee understanding and engagement.

    • Investigate Incidents: Support incident investigations using root cause analysis, developing and implementing corrective actions.

    • Respond to Emergencies: Actively participate in the emergency response team, ready to address HSE incidents.

    • Oversee Contractors: Manage contractor safety programs to minimize risks during construction and trade activities.

    • Lead Initiatives: Coordinate HSE training, risk reduction efforts, and improvement projects.

    • Collaborate: Engage in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and HSE committee meetings.

    • Support Management: Serve as backup to the HSE Manager as needed, taking on additional duties as assigned.


    Required Qualifications:

    • An Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, HSE, or a related field.

    • In-depth understanding of HSE regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT), with a strong preference for experience or an internship in the chemical industry.

    • Familiarity with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis is a plus. Strong technical aptitude, including computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new tools.

    • Ability to influence stakeholders effectively without direct authority.

    • Adaptability to adjust work hours, including occasional nights and weekends, to meet operational needs.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs occasionally.

    • Daily activities include sitting, walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders.
